A while ago I wrote a post about Lifeblood. I got my hands on a rare copy from Werner Lind himself, and I loved the book.

You can read the review here: REVIEW of: Lifeblood by: Werner Lind

Well when I wrote that post, the book was out of print, and only 1 copy available on Amazon. Now finally, it is back in print, with a new look. The cover has been revamped (pun intended, hehe), and it is available in all of the most popular formats, Amazon Kindle, Barnes and Noble Nook Reader, and even e-book format from Smashwords.

This book is a great read, its quick, and fun, and is worth your time if you love vampire books, and at a low price of $2.99, it will be worth it to add to your collection!

Check out all the ways you can get Lifeblood below…

The site is designed to inform and tantalize future readers and fans.

June 14, 2011 (Raleigh, NC) – T. Lyn Fletcher, the author of the upcoming supernatural/horror/vampire book series “Twisted and Turned,” has launched a new website specifically designed to capture the ambience of the series and to keep future readers enthralled.

“It was a bit of a challenge to build a site as eclectic and dramatic as T. Lyn Fletcher’s needed to be, without making it difficult for a user to navigate,” said Karin Bilich, founder and president of Smart Author Sites.com. “I think we found a really nice medium in which readers can really feel like they’ve delved into the ‘Twisted and Turned’ series, while still being able to find any pertinent information.”

Against a black backdrop, where the gray form of a raven takes wing behind the author’s name, the team at Smart Author Sites created a window on the landing page that recalls a dark, worn desk. On the desk are various items — from an old, leather book to a 21st century cell phone — that become links to other pages as users scroll over them.

Fletcher’s photograph appears in a small black frame propped on the “desk” and leads to the “About The Author” page. A black leather-bound book becomes the link to “The Series” page for a synopsis and excerpt. A computer keyboard leads to a page of links to the author’s social media sites. An open address book goes to “Fun Facts,” and a newspaper on the desk will lead to reviews of the books. The cell phone links to contact information and downloads (including Fletcher’s head shots and promotional posters), while an ornate, pink envelope takes visitors to a page where Fletcher will post comments and questions readers submit to her by email. All of these items/links remain on the bottom of each page for easy navigation.

Throughout the site, Bilich has sprinkled dramatic photos of the author as well as esoteric symbolism and a sneak peak at the cover of the first book in the series, “Unholy Union.”

“T. Lyn Fletcher is quite an interesting woman, and we wanted to make sure that her personality really came through in the website,” Bilich said. “She has some great photos of herself, which we tried to work into the site wherever possible. It’s important that an author’s website reflects his or her personality, and I think this one does just that.”

The see the new website and for more information on the author and the upcoming “Twisted and Turned” series, visit www.tlynfletcher.com.

About T. Lyn Fletcher:

Lyn Fletcher, the author of the upcoming supernatural/horror book series Twisted and Turned,” is a medical software designer in her “other life.” A native North Carolinian, she is a member of the well-known philanthropic Fletcher family of Raleigh, NC, and member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

So if you loved Vampire Academy, you are probably one of the hundreds of thousands of people anxiously awaiting for the Bloodlines series to come out. The time is almost here. August 23rd is the release date according to Richelle Mead’s website.

And if you haven’t heard of the Vampire Academy series, then let me fill you in. The Vampire Academy series is an action filled series about two young girls who have to deal with tons of turmoil, drama, and quite a bit of craziness. Rose is a kick ass vampire who is set on protecting Lissa, her best friend and also a royal vampire. To help a little with the back story, you should know that this book contains two different kinds of vampires, Moroi and Stigoi, and in addition, Moroi are seperated into two categories as well, Royals, and dhampires. Dhampires are the protectors of the royal moroi, and the royals are an elite group of vampires that govern all moroi and make and enforce laws – not much different than any other Royals.

Anyway, the story is set around Rose and Lissa, and the books are amazing. I am not going to go into too much detail, because I have already written full reviews on these books (see below).

REVIEW: Vampire Academy Series – Book 1: Vampire Academy

REVIEW: Vampire Academy Series – Book 2: Frostbite

REVIEW: Vampire Academy Series – Book 3: Shadow Kiss

REVIEW: Vampire Academy Series

REVIEW: Vampire Academy Series – Book 4: Blood Promise

REVIEW: Vampire Academy Series – Book 5: Spirit Bound

So, on to Bloodlines… Bloodlines is a spin off to Richelle’s amazing series, and it is told through the point of view of Sydney, who appeared in the last books of the Vampire Academy series. This is especially exciting to me, since Sydney was a really good character and I would have loved to hear more from her, and now I can!

This series also contains many other characters from the VA series, such as Jill, Adrian, and Eddie. Adrian is probably my second favorite character, and one that I am excited to see in this new series.

On Richelle’s website, the description of the book reads

BLOOD DOESN’T LIE. Sydney is an alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of human and vampires. They protect vampire secrets – and human lives. When Sydney is torn from her bed in the middle of the night, at first she thinks she’s still being punished for her complicated alliance with dhampir Rose Hathaway. But what unfolds is far worse. Jill Dragomir – the sister of Moroi Queen Lissa Dragomir – is in mortal danger, and the Moroi must send her into hiding. To avoid a civil war, Sydney is called upon to act as Jill’s guardian and protector, posing as her roommate in the last place anyone would think to look for vampire royalty – a human boarding school in Palm Springs, California. But instead of finding safety at Amberwood Prep, Sydney discovers the drama is only just beginning…

Now that sounds like a good book! If you want more information check the below links for some juicy material!

Though monsters have held us in their thrall since the dawning of the age of cinema, few monsters have been as popular as those portrayed in zombie movies. For a variety of reasons, these undead creatures have been popular for generations and seem to have a peculiar appeal that resonates even into modern times. There have been many attempts at explaining this phenomenon, but no single explanation can account for the diverse audience these types of films draw.

The monsters

Zombies have origins far older than modern film making. Many experts on the subject point to their existence within the voodoo culture as being among the first instances of the walking dead. Of course, voodoo zombies were mere servants; they possessed none of the terrifying drive or flesh-eating capabilities they would later be given by Hollywood film directors.

The movie version

Once zombies made the transition to film, their very nature seemed to change dramatically. These changes were obviously intended to make them more threatening to the viewers. Many of the early movie zombies appeared as lumbering juggernauts that marched with but one goal in mind: to obtain and eat the brains of humans.

Later movies expanded on this simple concept, and added to the desire for brains an insatiable huger for human flesh. Some films even went so far as to provide the creatures with increased speed and even some semblance of organized intelligence, undoubtedly to

enhance the threat they posed to the films’ protagonists.

Into the psyche

Given the simplicity of the film formula for almost every movie featuring zombies, these creatures must have some deep effect on the minds of viewers. After all, hardly a year goes by without at least one new entry into the genre, with many of them being little more than poorly disguised remakes of previous films. The truth of the matter is that zombies have always represented something more than the mindless, shambling behemoths that they seem to be.

From the earliest days, zombies have symbolized a variety of human worries: from the faceless threat of communism in the Forties and Fifties to the desire for a break from conformity in later years. In recent decades, the zombies have reflected a fear of viral plagues and radiation, and those twin threats have featured prominently in many of these monster films.

That is the true power of the zombies: they exist as clean sheets of paper upon which each viewer can place his own personal angst. Thus teenage viewers may see themselves as the heroes who are faced with constant isolation, while the elderly may see the zombies as the subconscious representation of relentless, inescapable death. For each viewer, personal fears can be confronted by confronting the zombies on the big screen.

The simple truth that must be acknowledged is that films need villains, and few others offer viewers such an easy opportunity to project one’s inner fears onto the screen. Because these creatures provide a unique opportunity to confront those unspoken fears, there is little reason to believe that the popularity of zombie movies will wane any time soon.
